FINISHING:
Finished with 2 coats of high gloss onto sealed wood.
I cut out a few holes in the back for moving handles/vents. The whole thing is wired by a powerstrip mounted to the inside, with an illuminated master switch on the back. The computer pops on by a small power button located directly beneath the control panel.
A little feature that's not too well known is that modern computers will start their shutdown procedure if you double click the power button. So one click to turn it on, two clicks to shut it down. Pretty handy - I think they have MAMEr's in mind when they designed it...
The control panel is bolted on with strong corner braces, and the marquee is a sheet of paper between two sheets of glass. The light up there is just a $20 flourescent lamp from lowes.
I attached some furniture glides at the bottom for obvious reasons - this bastard is heavy.
Oh - speakers are just some nice 2.1 speakers he had lying around. After attaching them up there and putting the sub in the bottom, we dare not go over 50% volume because it's just too damn loud. Seriously. The little 4" grills are from RadioCrap, as are the 2 little switches.
